The MACC strives to serve its members with civic events such as the Metamora Country Days and Hot Air Balloon Festival and the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Harmer Park. The local Lions Club continues to sponsor food, a beer tent, dancing and a Car Show, which bring in many residents and visitors to the area.
The Chamber has also launched an ambitious organization called Metamora Area Youth Development Association (MAYDA). The purpose of this group is to build a sports park complex and maintain an annual scholarship program for the youth of the Metamora area. This group continues to raise funds for the park and scholarship program with several very successful benefit auctions.
The members of the Metamora Area Chamber of Commerce are excited about the future, and with good reason. Between the efforts of the Chamber and MAYDA, we are establishing a solid foundation for positive community growth. We continue to believe that community pride is shown through civic responsibility. We will continue to offer community events that promote the Metamora area, its residents and business owners in a positive manner!
Our November General Membership Meeting will be held on November 12, 2008 @ 12:30 at Hunter's Creek Club at 675 Sutton Road (1 1/2 miles East of Metamora Road, North side), Metamora, MI.
